Bonus rollover calculator
Turn a bonus's fine print into numbers: how much you would have to wager before the bonus can be withdrawn, and an illustration of the margin you would pay along the way.
How it works
Many bonuses come with a rollover (also called playthrough or wagering requirement): you must wager a multiple of an amount before the bonus or related winnings can be withdrawn. Terms differ on whether the multiple applies to the bonus alone, or to the bonus plus your deposit, and on minimum odds, eligible markets and expiry. Read the operator's terms. Regulators in some states require those terms to be clear: Ohio's rule, for example, requires the wagering and redemption requirements, eligible events and expiry date to be stated, and says a promotion described as "free" or "risk-free" must not require you to risk your own money to use it or withdraw winnings from the free wager. See bonus fine print.
The math
- Total you must wager = amount the multiple applies to x multiple.
- Illustrative cost = total wagered x assumed margin. This shows the scale of what wagering costs on average; real results vary, and this is not a prediction.
- Non-withdrawable bonus bet at decimal odds d with a zero-margin price: you keep only winnings, so average value = bonus x (d - 1) / d. Example: at +100 (d = 2) that is 50% of face value. Real prices include margin, so real value is lower.
Worked examples
- $100 bonus, 10x on the bonus only: you must wager $1,000. At an assumed 5% margin, the illustration is $50 of cost.
- Same bonus, 10x on bonus plus a $100 deposit: you must wager $2,000.
